New Indianapolis Central Library

Dan Carpenter is always worth reading, but today’s editorial is especially nice. Or maybe its just that I too am anxious to browse the stacks of the newly renovated Central Library.

“[T]he printed word in physical, portable form is what I most love about libraries, and it is thrilling to see the new Central accord books a generous space of hushed honor. This is something of an act of defiance, given the widespread and politically potent view that large libraries are outmoded luxuries in a digital, tax-averse time.”
