Bulldozing Sprawl

Action like this would not be neccesary if cities and towns were planned around people and not automobiles. I have to say though, I’m glad to hear about plans to remove abandonded sprawl and return the land to nature coming to fruition. I have some strip malls in my neck of the woods that were much more functional as corn fields. Perhaps they can be added to the list?

  1. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Reminds me of why I voted the way I did… Thankfully, Indianapolis is one of the few vibrant cities in the Midwest “Rustbelt”, so I don’t think any downsizing will occur in Plainfield. I hope they build a stripmall in your backyard.

    • Fortunately, there is no room in downtown Plainfield for the crap-tastic development that has overgrown the town’s far east side. Everything east of Carr Road reminds me of something a first time player of SimCity would come up with.

However, to address your point, if they did try to build a strip mall on my .3 acre backyard, I’d become a crazy hippy and chain myself to the bulldozer and go on a hunger strike. :)
